We got our Referral!!!!!!!

We are BEYOND THRILLED to be able to announce that we received our Referral last Thursday!!!! (I know, I know, I've talked to some of you since then and didn't say anything...we wanted to wait until it was official before we made it completely public.)

Smart and Trendy Moms - Free Buttons and Blinkies

IT'S A BOY!

Ben was working on a paper at DTS when he got the call and he surprised me later that afternoon. Our little man is a year and a half right now, and he is PRECIOUS! We cannot post any pictures of him until after our court date when he will be legally ours. But, we do have one little picture of him right now.

His given name is Adane Ayele (pronounced "Ah-DON-ay" and "Ay-YELL-ay"). Adane means "he saves." Incredible, isn't it? We've decided to name him Abram Adane Lowery. Ben was reading in Genesis when he got the call and had just thought that the name Abe would be a neat name for a boy. :) We're so excited about our little Abe! We don't have much information on him right now, but now that we've accepted the Referral he should be moved to the Transition Home where we hopefully can learn more about him.

We COULD travel in 2-3 months, but we just found out that a new directive has been laid down which could dramatically lengthen our process. You can read more about it here. You can also follow news on this and other adoption related issues here. There is a petition that can be signed regarding this new directive from MOWA in Ethiopia. I'd encourage you to read it. PLEASE PRAY!!!!! So many children and families will be affected by this change.

This entire process has been and will continue to be in God's hands, so we are asking that you pray for our patience and continued trust that He is in control of everything regarding our son. Please also pray for Abe's transition into the Faith Children's Home, and his health.

We have started to make more progress on his room - we ordered a crib and started a registry for him. I'll update you on all of that in a later post. For now, we're just excited to know we have a son! He is already SO loved. We appreciateyour continued prayers and support. We are hoping to launch another big fundraiser soon as we are really only halfway through the financial part of this adoption. Thank you to all who have been so encouraging and suppportive. We love and appreciate you more than you know!
