Even though we have no idea when we will be traveling to Ethiopia to bring our son home, we are preparing a room for him. Much like our heavenly Father is preparing a room for those who trust Christ. I love this imagery. :)
So, it's definitely a work in progress. We just had Abe's furniture deliveredlast week, and I really love it! We went with a Lifetime Crib...

We've learned that for every 3 months a child is in an orphanage or institution, there is a 1 month delay developmentally. Even though Abe may be around 2 by the time we get him, he most likely will be behind in his speech and motor skills. We can easily convert this to a Toddler Bed when he's ready, and then a full bed later on.
We probably will paint over the amazing trees Ben freehanded on the wall. :( It just doesn't match our theme exactly, but we'll see if we can make it work.
We also got a Changing Table/Dresser.
I decided to change out the knobs for something a little more whimsical. :)
We also purchased some really cute transportation decals from Pottery Barn Kids for the wall that match his bedding. We aren't sure how we'll use these just yet, but here's a picture of a couple of them.
One thing I am not happy with is the lighting in his room. We are looking at ceiling fans with exposed light bulbs to put off a little more light.
And here's a picture of a super cute truck I found on sale at Hobby Lobby! We love it!
I can't wait to finish up his room - but I do love projects, so it's fun to do things little by little! We've started registries at Pottery Barn Kids, Target, and Babies R Us. We still have a few more things to add, and of course things may change as we find out more about him. But, it's been fun starting to plan for his arrival.
